With great Successfully ,The Respiratory Care Department at King Faisal specialist hospital ended The first activities of the first day of the advanced mechanical ventilation, and the title of that day was about the new technology named "NAVA" ,a technique recently upgraded by Maquite company , designed to find a way in which the patient can control the required breathing by ordering through an electrical activity introduced through the muscles of diaphragm which can initiate the desired breath and enable the patient to asisit his own minute ventilation.This technology will allowed for a successful weaning procedures and releaving work of breathing and decrease or asses the need of the effectiveness sedeation. group of a selected  international speakers from the United States, Sweden and Spain. They Reviewed through these lectures the definition of NAVA and the indication with the way of connecting the enhance esophagealthe catheter and it roll of detecting the electrical signals then how to setup the ventilator to transleate this signal as a patient demand to handle his own bereath.

The course contained of workshops consisting of four platforms, two contained Two rabbits where the other had two cattles ,that were intubated by endotracheal tube or  by trachesomy , for the simulation of the reality of Inpatient and users of this technology, also simulate the lung and methods to qualify the use of some specific techniques ..

these workshops Won the approbation of the session participants, some interviews were conducted by the company's Gulf Medical Organization . This concludes the activities of NAVA .The course is stell going on tomorow with the HFOV technology and there is also workshops at the end of the course .
