Published at homecare magazine on 14 june 2010-ELYRIA, Ohio — Invacare Corp., in collaboration with the American Association for Respiratory Care, is renaming its annual "Excellence in Home Respiratory Care" award in honor of the late Dr. Thomas Petty. Petty, a pioneer in home respiratory care, died Dec. 12, 2009.Established by Invacare in 1992, the award is presented annually at the AARC International Respiratory Congress and recognizes an outstanding home respiratory therapist. It will now be called the Thomas L. Petty, MD, Invacare Award for Excellence in Home Respiratory Care.
