Dr. Yasser Mndorah expressing concern over the acute shortage of specialists respiratory care in the ministry, said that some MOH hospitals do not have one respiratory care specialist .

Chairman of Saudi Critical Care Medicine, , Dr. Yasser Mndorah announced  that the number of beds in hospitals of the Ministry of Health amounted to 30 thousand beds, while the total number of hospitals that do not follow the Ministry's 10 thousand beds, pointing out that he aspires to add three thousand beds by 2013, along with increase the number of consultants from critical care physicians to more than the current number of 80 advisory only, and said that the number of hospitals in the global number of doctors care for an average of six doctors per bed.
This came on the sidelines of the meeting, the first strategic, organized by the Saudi Society of Critical Care Medicine at the Holiday Inn prosperity, under the auspices of the Assistant Undersecretary for Development and Training, Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Al-Qahtani on behalf of Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabiah. Added Dr. Mndorp that the rate of critical care physicians in Saudi up rate of 10-15%, while the urgent need to increase that number to 1000 to 2012, a consultant physician and 10% of non-specialized nurses in intensive care, and expressing concern over the acute shortage of specialists respiratory care in the ministry, said that some hospitals do not have respiratory care specialist one.
For his part, Undersecretary of the Assistant for Development and Training, Ministry of Health, Dr Ali Al-Qahtani told the "alwatan" that the focus on intensive care of the priorities of the ministry, especially in southern areas such as Jazan and provinces, adding that the ministry is currently not on the increase in the number of hospitals and buildings, On the selection of doctors and nurses, highly skilled, which serve the patient, and said that there are 16 medical society in the Kingdom does not provide much benefit hospitals and small ones working most of the big.
