The Dean of the Applied Medical Sciences Faculty, head of respiratory care department at Dammam University,  Dr. Ghazi Al-Otaibi said that the reality of respiratory home care in the Kingdom had been discussed during the symposium, , and the trial to reach to a  formulate proposals  to update and improve its services, referring to the effort of the respiratory section with the help of colleagues in different sectors, towards the establishment of Saudi Society for respiratory Care as the first society in the Arab world in this specialization in addition to the Scientific Committee of respiratory care, which was practicing  its role since 3 years.
Lectures and workshops
Dr Ghazi Al-Otaibi said that the symposium  included broadly scientific activities included lectures and workshops on the respiratory care of household equipment and appliances used in home care for patients with respiratory infections such as a mechanical ventilator  and oxygen  delivery devices  and equipment measuring the level of oxygen in the blood and the modern methods of patient follow-up and education were also presented several experiments on the subject of seminar for a number of hospitals in the area of home respiratory care, such as the National Guard Hospital in Riyadh, King Fahd Medical City, Riyadh Military Hospital in Riyadh, as well as the Directorate of Health Affairs in the city of Medina and Armed Forces Hospital in Tabuk.
